Educational programs are open to the public and are held throughout the year.

Driving and Walking Tours
Extensive maps with notes on local history, historical structures and architectural styles. The driving tour is marked on street signs throughout the city's historical neighborhoods and business districts. Maps are produced and maintained by HWI and available for free at the Ellis County Museum and many shops and businesses in the downtown business district.
 
Ellis County Courthouse -- Waxahachie
Rated by the Texas Society of Architects as the eighth most significant architectural achievement in the State. The brochure Ellis County Courthouse Revisited guides you through this magnificant structure built in 1895. The brochure was produced in conjunction with the recent completion of a $10 million to $12 million restoration project. Brochures provided by Ellis County Historical Commission and Historic Waxahachie Inc. Open Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ellis County Museum

Main purpose is to house and preserve a material record of the county's heritage for future generations. Raises funds annually hosting the Gingerbread Trail Tour of Homes/Arts and Crafts Fair each June. Maintained by Ellis County Museum, Inc.
